Leaving Calendly: know which product you need
People searching for a European Calendly alternative are usually looking for one of two quite different tools.
Booking online meetings is Calendly's core function: a booking link for sales or consulting calls, calendar sync, and a slot created automatically for video calls. The European alternatives for that work much like Calendly.
In-person appointments, for example in salons, practices, tutoring services, or repair shops. You need a booking widget, calendars for different staff, deposits, automatic reminders by SMS or email. Calendly can technically cover some of this, but it was never built for it.
If you book online calls: the Calendly-style EU tools
What to look for in this category: a booking page you can send as a link, two-way calendar sync (Google, Outlook, iCal), automatic video-call creation for Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, and team features like pooled availability. You are eliminating the "does Tuesday 3pm work for you?" email thread.
Zeeg and meetergo are both from Germany. Zeeg is the closest Calendly clone: booking links, event types, round-robin, group events. meetergo routes incoming leads to the right person and uses the booking page to capture them.
SimplyMeet.me is the minimalist option: self-service slot booking with calendar sync and video integrations, no feature avalanche. Spain's TuCalendi is similar but goes further with multilingual booking pages and in-person and phone appointments alongside video calls, on a permanent free plan.
Zencal rounds out the category with automated SMS and email reminders, event registration, and payments.
If you book physical appointments: the service-business tools
These tools offer a booking link or embeddable widget that customers can use to book their appointment. They usually also include staff calendars with per-person services and durations, deposit and payment collection, SMS and email reminders to cut no-shows, and multi-location or multi-resource support (to manage available rooms, employees etc.).
SimplyBook.me is the broadest of the bunch: customizable booking pages, intake forms, memberships, a wide range of industry templates, and payment integrations. If you run a service business and don't know which niche you are in, it covers the most ground.
Reservio targets the classic salon and wellness crowd: booking website, SMS and email notifications, client management. Timify goes a step up in complexity, with real-time team calendars, resource management, shift planning, and multi-location support. The pick for practices and businesses with several rooms or branches.
SuperSaas is the odd one out in a good way: highly configurable schedules with resource management, quotas, and approval workflows. Useful when your booking logic is unusual (shared equipment, capped classes, bookings that need a human yes). Calendesk combines scheduling with online payments and recurring reservations in one package aimed at freelancers and small service businesses.
